Two Going on Sixteen
On an unseasonably warm day last week, I cleaned out my car while Spencer hammed it up in my sunglasses in the driver's seat:

High Chair
I love taking pictures of Spencer in his high chair. 1-I have lots of good natural light in my kitchen/dining room, 2-He can't run away, 3- He's typically pretty happy (and cute) when he's eating. So, as far as photos go, it's a winning combination! Here are a few recent favorites:

Hurricane Spencer
Spencer turned one and decided it was time to wreak havoc on our house. All the books are off the book shelves, the toilet paper is usually unraveled into a messy pile on the bathroom floor, etc, etc... I had sort of forgotten how much damage one little tyke can manage. When left to his own devices, it's actually quite impressive.

Tomato Time
We seem to have an all out tomato production facility in our backyard. First, Mitchell picks each tomato from our garden at it's peak of perfection. (Okay, not really. We are still working on picking the RED ones only!) Next, he carefully loads them into his dump truck...
... and then transfers them into his front loader.
Once loaded, he hauls them across the yard where they are delicately transferred to Spencer in shipping.

Before I know it, I have garden ripe tomatoes in my kitchen ready to eat! And a good thing because I just made this delicious recipe Vanessa posted and my fresh tomatoes hit the spot!

My Camera
I've been experimenting with my camera (and picassa) a little bit lately. I am embarrassed to say that I have owned a really nice digital SLR camera for almost a year and I'm just now getting around to learning all it's functions. I bought it with hopes to start a little business taking baby and family pictures for other people- which I still intend to do. However, while I think I have a decent eye for taking pictures, I am not the greatest at taking the time to learn new things. Especially the inner workings of a camera. ("Why do I have to know about shutter speed?", "Can't it just magically do what I want it to do?", "Why to I have to read the manual?") Also, I think I have adult onset Attention Deficit Disorder because I have at least five other random business ideas in my head at all times and it seems impossible for me to narrow my focus to just one. However, I am bound and determined to take great pictures and make money doing it. With said money I want to buy some new lenses, indoor studio lighting, props/backgrounds and Photoshop. My hope is to have a little home studio set up eventually. But I'm really getting ahead of my self. First things first. I've got to read that darn camera manual!

He's On a Roll
At his 4 month well visit a few days ago, Spencer rolled from his stomach to his back. After all the poking from the doctor I think he was just mad enough to do it. It's amazing what physical feats can be accomplished when someone has rage flowing through their veins. But to Spencer's credit, he repeated the task when we got home. Rage free. Go Spence!
